Bringing children's drawings to life

l discovered Crayon Creatures last week, and they certainly brightened up a wintry weekend. Created by Spanish designer Bernat Cuni, Crayon Creatures turns a child's imagination into a tangible sculpture of endearing beauty.

Digitally rendered by computer modeling, and in combination with 3D print technology, a drawing is beautifully brought to life. Each figurine is made of sandstone, measuring 100mm.

From a product design point of view, l find the visual concept of taking an imaginative 2D scribble, and generating it into a 3D object rather playful and celebratory of a child's mind.

Drawings jumping off the page - roaming free? What an amusing and lovely thought!
